Devotion Complete Garden Bed Mix
The Devotion range of potting and planting mixes contain starter fertilisers and trace elements. There are no controlled release fertilisers in them, which means that they are suitable for planting all types of plants into, including phosphorus sensitive plants such as grevilleas, proteas and natives. The even greater advantage is that controlled release fertilisers can be added to your potting mix as needed for each individual plant. Pellets of slow release fertiliser that are pre-mixed into most commercial potting mixes have partially or totally discharged by the time you take them home and use them. When you plant your garden bed with annuals, seedlings, mondo grass or groundcovers it can be difficult to control the weeds that grow amongst these small plants while they establish themselves. By planting into a shallow layer of Devotion Complete Garden Bed Mix applied over our Devotion Bio-degradable Weed Mat you can create a low maintenance, weed free environment to establish small plants in. Before removing your plant from its pot, water the root ball soaking it thoroughly with water. For maximum benefit before planting, soak your plants in Devotion Liquid Leaf & Stem Food to reduce transplant shock and give your newly planted plants a boost. |

Suitable for planting all types of plants into |

1. Spray perennial weeds and grasses with roundup/glyphosate and leave undisturbed for 48 hours. Please refer to the instructions on the roundup/glyphosate pack on how to use. If the grass or weeds are long mow or brush cut close to ground level before spraying. Once the weeds and grasses have started to die, (approx. 48hrs, even though they may still look green) aerate the soil by piercing the area with a garden fork or sharp spade. |

2. Roll out the Devotion Bio-degradable Weed Mat and overlap the joins well. Secure the mat with the pegs pushing them through the mat, firmly securing the mat to the ground. For larger trees and shrubs cut slits in the mat, fold the slits back and dig your holes. When planting your large trees or shrubs beneath the weed mat, use the appropriate Devotion Planting Mix suited to your soil type. |  |
| 3. Plant your large trees or shrubs leaving the top 7.5-10cm (3-4") of the root ball protruding above the level of your parent soil. Fold the Devotion Bio-degradable Weed Mat over the root ball of your large trees or shrubs. For extra weed proofing around the trunk of your large trees or shrubs, cover the joins with additional strips of weed mat. If necessary secure the mat with some additional pegs around the trunk. |  |
4. Spread 7.5-10cm (3-4") of Devotion Complete Garden Bed Mix over the weed mat and plant your smaller plants into it. Remember to water your plants before and after planting with Devotion Liquid Leaf & Stem Food. Gently firm the soil around your newly planted plants and top dress with Devotion Time Release Fertiliser. |  |
