Tarata

Botanical Name: Pittosporum eugeniodes variegatum
Height x width: 8m x 5m or can be trimmed lower in a hedge/screen
Planting distance for screen: 1-2m
Conditions: Full sun to part shade in well-drained soils, very hardy
Features: A fast growing tree with narrow, oval, wavy-edged leaves that are variegated grey-green and creamy white.
Landscape use: Hedges, Screens, Windbreaks.

Camellia

Botanical Name: Camellia sasanqua
Height x width: 2-2.5m x 1.5m, can be trimmed
Planting distance for hedge: 80cm-1m
Conditions: Full sun to part shade in rich, well-drained soils, prefers a slightly acidic soil
Features: Glossy green foliage, with large flowers in white, pinks and red which are very attractive in late autumn and winter
Landscape use: Specimen, screen, general landscaping, hedges

Camellia

Botanical Name: Camellia japonica
Height x width: 2.5-3m x 1.5m, can be trimmed
Planting distance for hedge: 1m
Conditions: Full shade to part shade in rich, well-drained soils, prefers a slightly acidic soil
Features: Glossy large dark green foliage, with large flowers in white, pinks, red and two toned colours which are very attractive in winter and early spring
Landscape use: Specimen, screen, general landscaping, hedges

Laurustinus

Botanical Name: Viburnum tinus
Height x width: up to 3m x 3m
Planting distance for hedge: 1-1.5m
Conditions: Sun to part shade, will tolerate a large range of soils but prefers moist well drained soils
Features: A rounded evergreen shrub with dark green glossy leaves that develop purple tones in winter, and in winter will produce clusters of tiny white flowers which emerge from pink buds followed by blue-black berries
Landscape use: Hedges, screens, garden specimens, containers.

Photinia

Botanical Name: Photinia robusta
Height x width: up to 3m x 3m
Planting distance for screen: 1-1.5m
Conditions: Sun to part shade, very hardy, will tolerate a large range of soils but prefers moist well drained soils
Features: A rounded evergreen shrub with dark green glossy leaves with bright red attractive new growth
Landscape use: Hedges, screens, garden specimen
