Choosing the right border, hedge or screen for your garden!

Borders, Hedges and Screens make a great living division in your garden; they provide definition, structure, privacy and shade. A living division can be formal, traditional or modern in any shape or size.
The secret to a healthy, quick growing, Border, Hedge or Screen is regular trimming, fertilising and watering. It is very important to choose the right plant for your garden situation.
BORDERS: borders are usually kept low, up to 1m, they are great for defining pathways, driveways, garden beds and special features such as fountains. Borders can be used in almost any garden style and there are many different varieties to select from.
HEDGES: hedges are usually kept neat and clipped, generally up to about 3 metres or lower. Hedges are great along fences, driveways, behind borders and for adding structure to your garden.
SCREENS: screens are usually left to grow large and are not as formally clipped as a hedge. They are very useful in blocking out unsightly features such as buildings and water tanks, and are great for providing barriers and shade. Screens may be grown narrower by planting your plants closer together. Trim your screen from time to time to promote bushiness.

By answering these simple questions Chris & Marie will help you to choose
