ORNAMENTAL GRASSES
 There is a huge range of ornamental grasses in all different shapes, forms
and colours. There are many varieties that love hot, dry conditions and others that will
handle wet and boggy soils. Grasses are generally tough and hardy and can be used for many
different purposes from pots, rockeries, embankments, edges, filling in
gaps, to formally designed landscapes and mass plantings.
Grasses are becoming more popular in the garden due to their attractive foliage, sizes and
hardiness in most environmental situations. Grasses should be fertilized in spring with a
slow release fertilizer such as Devotion™ time
Release and from time to time with Devotion™
Liquid leaf and Stem liquid fertilizer.

 'Dietes Grandiflora' This
South African native, drought resistant clump
forming grass has narrow dark green leaves with iris like white flowers marked with mauve
and yellow. Ideal for under trees, rockeries and near water features. Plant in full sun to
part shade in well-drained soil. Grows to 1 metre. |

 'Dietes
Bicolour' This South African native
clumping plant has sword like foliage and yellow flowers with brown
eyes throughout the warmer months. Plant in a well-drained sunny

 'Festuca glauca' A native grass that forms clumps of narrow
blue/grey foliage. Great for pots or amongst low shrubs, rocks or borders. Plant in full

 'Lomandra longifolia' A popular tough native used in gardens
for contrasts with broad-leafed plants, can be used near ponds, along borders, mass
plantings and is often used near highways due to its high pollution tolerance. Fragrant
cream coloured flowers are borne in spring. Very adaptable but prefers moist soils. Plant
in full sun to part shade. Grows to 1 metre. |

 'Tanika' A fine leaf form of Lomandra longifolia with fine
attractive dark graceful foliage and yellow flowers early spring, ideal for mass planting,
garden beds, borders and pots, will tolerate heavy frost, dryness and heavy clay soils.
