These need to be kept well watered until they are planted.
It is best to keep them in the pot for the first three weeks to allow them to harden up
before planting. Once planted stake them well so that the stake supports the head in the
wind. Tie the head of the mop to the stake once planted. Mop Tops require a sunny well-drained
position and a good hard prune in the winter every few years.
Weeping
cherries
Weeping cherries can be planted out immediately. They are
particularly sensitive to poorly drained and heavy soils and hate having their roots
teased. Plant in a well drained sunny position.
Roses
Both bush and standards
roses hate to have their roots teased this can result in death within 24hrs. Standard
roses need to be well staked with the head held and supported by the stake.
Jacarandas
Our jacarandas have all been grown close together and should be
kept well watered and put into semi-shade for one to two weeks to harden them up before
being planted. Jacarandas require a sunny well-drained position.
Silver
Birch
When planting silver birch
avoid wet feet, excessive fertiliser and teasing
their roots. Very tall birches require secure staking. Birches love sunny locations with
plenty of watering and small doses of fertiliser. |
