DEVOTION™ YUCCA, SUCCULENT & CACTI MIX

dev15.jpg (18179 bytes) The Devotion™ range of potting and planting mixes contain starter fertilisers and trace elements. There are no controlled release fertilisers contained within them, which means that they are suitable for planting all types of plants into, including phosphorus sensitive plants such as grevilleas, proteas and natives. The even greater advantage is that controlled release fertilisers can be added to your potting mix as required. Pellets of slow dev14.jpg (23159 bytes) release fertiliser that are contained within most potting mixes have partially or totally discharged at the time of use.

Devotion™ Yucca, Succulent & Cacti Mix has been formulated to contain washed propagation sand & Creswick quartz to provide good drainage and air filled porosity for your plants. It also contains zeolite minerals and starter fertilisers. Your Yucca, Succulents & Cacti will grow strong and healthy in this mix.

Yucca, Succulents & Cacti are best grown in full sun and can also be grown in morning shade and indoors in well lit positions.

POTTING YOUR YUCCA, SUCCULENTS & CACTI

1. Water your plants soaking the root ball thoroughly. Incorporate Devotion™ Time Release Fertiliser to your potting mix at the recommended rate, blend well. Fill the bottom of the new pot with the mix so that so that when you plant into the pot the plant will sit on the potting mix and be 2.5cm (1") below the top of the pot. Slide the plant out of the old pot, (wear a thick pair of gardening gloves if potting Cacti) and DON’T TEASE OR TICKLE THE PLANTS ROOTS.

2. Position your Yucca, Succulent or Cacti in its new pot or planter and pour Devotion™ Yucca, Succulent & Cacti Mix incorporated with Devotion™ Time Release Fertiliser around the plant, holding the plant to steady it. Gently firm the soil around the plant and water your plants in well, it is best to lightly water your plant once then water ten minutes later thoroughly soaking the root ball. Place your pot or planter in its new position.

PLANTING YOUR YUCCA, SUCCULENTS & CACTI

3. Create a raised mound in your garden to plant your plants into. Dig the soil out from the planting area and incorporate 50% Devotion™ Yucca, Succulent & Cacti Mix with 50% of your parent soil, mix well & backfill the planting area. Dig a hole in the mound, remove your plant from its pot without disturbing the rootball and place the rootball into the hole. Cover the roots with the soil mix and water your plants well.

WATERING YOUR YUCCA, SUCCULENTS & CACTI

4. Yucca, Succulents & Cacti only require a small amount of watering. They are best watered when the potting mix or soil they are planted in becomes almost dry. If planted in a full sun position your Yucca, Succulents & Cacti will require a good soaking of water once a week in hot weather, in milder weather water once a fortnight to once a month. If planted indoors your plants will require watering every 4-8 weeks. In the winter months water when the potting mix becomes almost dry.
