Devotion™ is the first fully integrated range of gardening products

Chris was very fond of the idea of a set of complementary products like that of 'Old El Paso' Mexican food products. He liked the familiar artwork and the ease of being guided on the different products to purchase to simply create a delicious, good quality meal. The relationship between all of the Devotion( Products is based on the notion that they work in conjunction with each other to compliment one another.
There is a liquid fertiliser for watering onto newly planted plants and sick or stressed plants. A Time Release Fertiliser for mixing into potting mix and top dressing around established pot plants. Both the fertilisers are simple and safe to use on all plants including roses, vegetables, herbs, azaleas, citrus and seedlings, everything except Proteas and Grevilleas.

There are two planting mixes which can be used with all plants including natives one is designed for incorporating into sandy and loamy soils and one is designed for incorporating with heavy, wet & clay soils. These planting mixes are designed to be incorporated into your existing soil at the time of planting at a rate of 20% planting mix to 80% your soil.
Our garden bed mix is designed for topping up garden beds and planter boxes or for using in conjunction with our biodegradable weed mat. Our biodegradable weed mat is a jute hessian based product that can be rolled out over garden beds and covered with 3-4 inches of our complete garden bed mix. Plant your seedlings and perennials into a weed free low maintenance environment.
Our premium potting mix is designed out of old-fashioned ingredients and will last for many years in a pot. Its simple and safe to use for all plants and comes with a separate sachet of Devotion™ Time Release Fertiliser.

Devotion™ Premium Potting Mix & Our Growing Fields

In our growing fields we grow several acres of plants in pots and each week we buy a truckload of potting mix. Over the years we have been buying the latest potting mixes, which change slightly each year. Two years ago Chris decided that the modern potting mixes, particularly once they were 6 months old, didn't grow plants as well as what he and his dad used to mix up 30 years ago. So Chris mixed up the same mix as his dad taught him to make from composted pine bark, sharp sand and New Zealand peat, it cost a little more but his plants really grew. The pots were heavier and didn't blow over as much and they soaked up and held water better for longer.
A few months back Marie complained that she wasn't happy with the way her pot plants round the house were growing. Chris asked her which potting mix she was using she said she was using a popular premium brand from our nursery. Chris suggested that Marie use some bulk potting mix that we had had made up using the old fashioned ingredients and Marie's plants thrived. Marie put her foot down she told Chris that he had to bag and sell his premium potting mix.
So now you can buy the same potting mix and fertiliser that we use in our production nurseries its called Devotion™ and its made from composted pine bark, sharp sand and New Zealand Peat and comes with a separate sachet of Devotion™ Time Release Fertiliser, I reckon it's the stuff we don't put in the potting mix that makes it better!

Devotion™ Planting Mixes

When we were researching and developing our new potting mixes Chris was helping one of his best nurserymen, Craig to unload a truck of potting mix and Craig said to Chris "Do you know that over 50% of all the potting mix your customers buy gets dug into the garden?"
For the next couple of weeks Chris asked his customers what they were doing with their potting mix purchases and he found it was true, half of his customers dug their potting mix into the garden. The problem is that none of the potting mixes were formulated for this purpose. We formulated two planting mixes, which we designed to be mixed into the ground at the time of planting. One is for heavy clay soils, designed to break up and soften the ground and improve moisture penetration and drainage and the other is designed to add fiber and moisture and nutrient holding capacity to loamy and sandy soils. When planting your garden the choice is simple, Devotion™ is the only planting mix on the market!

Time Release Fertiliser

When Chris and Marie first started out together in business they had to get by on a nursery hands wage and they understand what it is like making a nice home and garden on a wage. So when they see a customer that has selected a whole trolley full of different plants at the fertiliser counter and look at all the fertilisers, there's one for azaleas, one for camellias, citrus, natives, roses, shrubs, indoor plants they could understand that to purchase all the different fertilisers would cost a fortune. Nurserymen for the sake of simplicity and cost fertilise 98% of all their plants with the same fertiliser. So if you don't want a cupboard full of expensive fertilisers we've packaged up the worlds best high tech Time Release Fertiliser under the Devotion™ brand, the same stuff as we use ourselves in our nurseries. Its got easy to follow instructions, its simple and safe to use on everything except for Grevilleas and Proteas and because it's a Time Release Fertiliser it keeps working for up to 6 months. Chris and Marie have devoted themselves to creating their own range of fertilisers, potting and planting mixes which has been inspired from the gardening needs of our customers along with the necessity to have plants thrive in top quality authentic ingredients, like that of old fashioned traditional potting mixes.
